British drinks maker Diageo’s bottom line is being helped by the increasing popularity of its alcoholic beverages in emerging countries.

The world’s biggest spirits group, whose brands include Johnny Walker whisky, Smirnoff vodka and Guinness beer, has posted better than expected annual results with sales up 15 percent in emerging economies.
