Base of spire added to 1 World Trade Center

Workers at New York’s 1 World Trade Center have installed the first piece of the spire that will make the 104-floor skyscraper the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. Two giant cranes lowered the 800 ton, 124 metre base section of the spire into place. It was floated into Manhattan on a barge last month.
