Half a million watch footage of dog and cat conspiring to escape kitchen

This is the unlikely moment when two animals – more usually at each other’s throats – conspire to escape from their owner’s kitchen.

More than half-a-million people have now watched the footage, which shows Dexter the cat and Gizmo the dog make a bid for freedom.

The pair were shut inside the kitchen of their owner’s home in Sheffield, England.

It shows Dexter climb his scratching post and fiddle with the door knob until it opens, as Gizmo watches on.
