A Brazilian is waiting to hear if he has surfed the world’s biggest wave.
Carlos Burle, from Rio de Janeiro, claims to have surfed a 30m (90ft) wave at Nazaré, Portugal.
He has been entered in the ‘ride of the year’ category at the 2014 Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards.
He is now awaiting confirmation that he has broken the world record. According to Guinness World Records that is held by Garrett McNamara, who surfed a 23.7m (78ft) wave at the same place.
