New Zealand’s World Cup preparations appear to be going to plan with the side securing a 39 to 18 win over Argentina in their Rugby Championship opener in Christchurch.
Captain Richie McCaw, Ma’a Nonu, Charles Puitau, Kieran Read and Codie Taylor all scored tries for the All Blacks while Dan Carter notched up 14 points from the boot.
Argentina captain Agustin Creevy scored two tries from attacking lineouts in the second half, while Nicolas Sanchez managed a conversion and two penalties.
Australia will host South Africa on Saturday.
The Rugby Championship will continue next week with New Zealand playing South Africa in Johannesburg while Argentina host Australia in Mendoza.
