Following the torching of a car and an armed robbery at a luxurious jewellery shop in Monte Carlo, four people aged between 20 and 25 have now been arrested. A fifth suspect is still being sought.

The robbers carrying at least one firearm entered the shop on Saturday. They burned the vehicle in a nearby tunnel to distract the emergency services.

Police temporarily closed the principality’s borders to prevent them from fleeing.

Almost all of the stolen pieces of jewellery worth several million euros have now been recovered.
