A former Playboy model is suing Donald Trump over a hush payment designed to prevent her disclosing her affair with the US President. Trump's legal woes are piling up: three women are currently battling him in the courts.
A former Playboy model who says she had an affair with Donald Trump is suing the company that paid her 120,000 euros ($150,000) to keep quiet about the relationship.
Karen McDougal says American Media, Inc. "intimidated and manipulated" her. She now wants to be released from the agreement so she can "set the record straight".
McDougal's suit is similar to one brought by adult film star Stormy Daniels - whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford. Trump's legal team has counter-sued for 16 million euros, claiming Clifford violated the deal. Now reports are emerging that a lie-detector test she took in 2011 backs her account of the relationship.
Sexual assault allegations
Adding to Trump's legal woes, on Tuesday a New York judge allowed a defamation case brought by a former Apprentice contestant to move forward, denying Trump's motion to dismiss the case. Summer Zervos has accused Trump of sexual assault.
Trump denies the allegations of all three women.
