Congratulations!
I often watch euronews and very pleased to be able to do native Ukrainian, language. What you really appreciate. However, when watching the weather today was unpleasantly surprised when I saw the inscription names of the capital of Ukraine – Kyiv. Yes, I understand that a word – Kyiv in variant Kiev is also used very often. But it is not entirely correct. The name comes from the Russian – Kiev, and actively began to be used during the days of the Soviet Union. True and correct name – and therefore are Київ – Kyiv – it responsible rules Ukrainian transliteration of letters and words according to Latin transliteration (law on this is here http://zakon2.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/55-2010-% D0 % BF). So I ask you to show respect to Ukraine and Ukrainian and change an outdated name of Kiev for a modern – Kyiv. And then use optionly Kyiv.
Thank you very much, best regards Volodymyr Dombrowskyi.

When we share this link on facebook or other social media websites the title of this message contains “FYROM” instead of Macedonia. The interesting thing is that the name FYROM isn’t present in this article (http://www.euronews.com/2012/07/03/how-sms-trading-is-helping-fyrom-s-farmers/) but at the end it still displays when shared in social media.
Please fix this, because the name FYROM is insulting the population in Macedonia.
Thanks and best wishes!

I like your web page a lot. However, I personally believe that Turkish translations should be double checked so that the readers can make full benefit out of the news you shared.
As a Turkish native speaker I had difficult times understanding the real meaning of some sentences.
Very kind regards.

Dear viewer,
Just to clarify, none of euronews’ 11 language services are a translation from the English Service. Journalists write their stories in their own languages, covering the same main points and following the same editorial line, but there is no simple translation from one service to another. We’ll pass your comments on to the Turkish Service. Head of English Service

THE 3RD OF JULY 1962;THE DAY CHARLES DE GAULLE DECIDED TO GRANT
ALGERIA INDEPENDENCE.
Good Evening euronews….......,
The 3rd of July 1962 is an unforgettable day in World History. It is the day when the first president
of the fifth republic General Charles de Gaulle (1959-1969) decided to grant Algeria independence
after a 7 year bloody war.It was a sour pill that had to be swollwed,in the face of the French colonial
settlers in Algeria. The official date of independence in Algeria is the 5th of July 1962.
I hope euronews, that you will cover such an event in Algiers,Annaba,Constantine,Oran,Sidi-Bel-Abbas,and other major cities which saw atrocities and bloody warfare from the 1st of November
1954 to the 19th of March 1962-date of the ceasefire in accordance with the Evian talks.
The occasion comes admist growing dispair amongst Algerians, who are to celebrate a dear
anniversary in a land of sadness due to poverty, corruption and hypocrisy.Algeria of the 5th of July
2012,differs greatly from the good days of the 5th of July 1962 or the 5th of July 1972.Algeria has
become a country of hypocrisy, unequalled opportunities, briberies and high corruption. It has also
become the hotbed of extremist fundamentalist terror.
Algerian youths have no longer opportunities for good jobs,so it would be stark hypocrisy for them
to pretend that they are happy on independence day.I,too am celebrating an Algeria that no longer
exists.May God be with the disadvantaged Algerians.
Thank you euronews…

REFLECTIONS ON A VERY RECENT PAST;THE ALGERIAN INDEPENDENCE
OF THE 5TH OF JULY 1962.
Good Evening to all who work at euronews…................,
Algeria will be celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence,on the 5th of this month,a day
which ought to be covered by euronews.Your coverage in Reporter Algeria;50 years of independence
which was aired before two months was short of mentioning many things. You selected Algerian
berbers on concentrating on Algerian independence.I watched it.I advise you euronews to concentrate on Algiers,Annaba,Constantine,Oran,Sidi Bel Abbas,Tlemcen, the places where
heavy warfare took place between the Algerians and the French colonial forces between the
1st of November 1954 and the 19th of March 1962-date of the ceasefire in accordance with
the accords of the Evian talks.
As a faithful televiewer of euronews,Algeria needs to be covered from time to time, even if it has
become a country of stark contradictions,a land of hypocritical politicans, and a nation of high
corruption.Bribes, poverty, shanty towns, and alot of many other disadvantages have become the norm of the day.Algeria of the 5th of July 2012 is very different from that of 1962 or 1972.Algeria
has become a land of injustices. In short many Algerians, ordinary Algerians would be celebrating
joy in a land of sorrow.I never relied on Algerian state television, because it is a mouthpiece of
a corruptive government.Abdul Aziz Boutaflika of 2012 or 1999 is not Abdul Aziz Boutaflika of 1962, 1965, 1970 or 1976.The man, like those with him and the whole system has changed to a
metamorphosis of the worst,in mentality, attitude and understanding.Algeria has become a hostage
of decadence because of these people.
When I celebrate the 5th of July 1962,I am celebrating an Algeria that no longer exists. Many Algerian youths whom I personally met have complained about many disadvantages back in their
republic.
As always euronews,your faithful televiewer.

euronews, please give more news from Philippines. CCTV News (China) has the most news coverage of Philippines but it would be nice to see a different perspective on euronews. Al Jazeera English and BBC World News also cover some Philippines news. Comment is a suggestion, not meant to be published.

I must deduce from euronews’ piece today about the northern league in Italy that the president of that political party has been convicted of fraud in his past life. Should he still be the president?

Searching the EC ‘Cordis’ site (and other EC sites) for ‘green energy’ innovations I find most often solar, wind and hydro power generation technologies with a smattering of unique innovations (ie: electrics from sweat).
At which link can one find a form or email address to submit proposals for funding/partnering in development of other innovative electrics technologies? I’ve tried Cordis’ Partnering site but, it seems, the only allowable proposals are those directly addressing European Parliament sanctioned projects or Frameworks – as if bureaucrats had an inkling of what components/materials could be integrated to comprise viable generation/storage/transmission technologies.
This seems akin to the American (USA) Govt’s structure (in the US Dept Of Energy) where only those proposals which correspond to bureaucrat-originated plans are considered for support. (Remember Solyndra?)
Lest we forget; those ruling the USA sacrifice trillions in taxpayer funds to secure petroleum resources at the expense (pun NOT intended) of any viable ‘green energy’ innovation developments – and they’re not shy in sacrificing the lives of their own (and others’) military personnel as well.
Advancing the case for funding ‘green energy’ innovation (openly world-wide) to ‘all comers’ would place the EC at a trade pinnacle (economically) as Great Britain was centuries past – developing, manufacturing and exporting new, innovative products to a global buyer base (as happened with the English steam-engined trains).

Dear Euronows Culture division, I as an Armenian, as a person who was born and lived in the Middle East, as a person whose forefathers and our neighbour Arab people were brutally manipulated and massacred by the Othoman Turks for 4 centuries, can see no virtue in those Turkish TV series. Culture can’t be produced by those people. Their whole history is the robbery of neighbouring nations of their culture. Everything they have is the result of the theft of other peoples’ cultures. Their music is stolen from Greeks, Armenians, Arabs, Persians, Slavs. Their palaces were built by Armenian, Greek architects. Their language is composed of words robbed from a multitude of languages. Showing the Turkish culture as a pioneer in the Middle East is based on a big lie. The only purpose is to return to the days of the Ottoman Empire. Gentlemen lost empires cannot be rebuilt. The Turks cannot regain what they had lost. The people will awaken from this hypnosis of media brainwash. Regards

Hi, i live in Lebanon, in the center of all the chaos around.
there’s a majjor news that is only being mentionned in lebanon, and the arab world…
it was not mentionned anywhere…
about 2 weeks ago buses with people coming back from Hajj in Iran were kidnapped in syria.
all were sent home, except 11 men.
they are all Chiite from Hezbollah.
for 2 weeks, things are getting more and more confusing…
sometime they say they are in turkey, some say in syria, some say they were taken from the syrian revolution, then they deny it…
very fishy story…
how come it was not mentionned? is it a “wag the dog” situation?
