For a pan-European channel, euronews don’t really seem to care to put other timezones in their trailers, only CET (not even in the “UTC +1” format to make it easier to calculate when something will air in our local time without mixing it with CEST). American networks work with two timezones and they always indicate both.

How can ignorant people who imagine something they call “God” be persuaded to seek out literature/education which will show them that God is just an idea in their minds? The recent killings caused by the rantings of such people are sad but based on such ludicrous concepts.

I wonder what the truth is about last November’s election in South Ossetia? Did the opposition candidate for president actually win the poll. Hence, was she justified in telling her supporters to ignore the judges ruling giving the presidency to the Russian backed candidate? I remember that in the controversial election in America between George Bush and Al Gore, the judges there had to decide on the result!

What Assad of Syria and the Iranian regime have in common as a so called axis is the fear that if they have free and fair elections in their countries they will no longer be in government. This position is the case with their two major supporting governments: Russia and China. All four countries are ruled by repressive dictatorships.

About Curiosity rover on Mars
Curious that there are any photos of the eight month voyage and no photos approaching Mars.

The Swiss TV logo in the “Perspective” title screen is the wrong (old) one, you should update it.

I am a decade long weekly viewer of euronews, so the Head of English Service claims that Russian coverage would be treated “with the same editorial values of balance and impartiality that runs through all our coverage of world events” actually make me laugh. I have ten years of euronews reports under the belt constantly demonstrating otherwise : the euronews treatment of Russia is partial, western/NATO oriented and give the oppositions and among them the mobsters/oligarchs/western backers and bankrollers an undisputed propagandist tribune… Yet it is already nice to see the head of this recognizing that Putin was elected, while its channel constantly feign otherwise in concert with that -elections losing- oppositions. So thank you for your reply, but facts are louder than words.

Dear viewer In order to address your concerns it would be useful if you were to provide specific instances, rather than generic assertions, where you feel our reporting was biased. Head of English Service

Can we have an explanation on the constant, recurring, plain propaganda level ‘reporting’ on anything Russian?
I am more than appalled by the blatant bias and agenda of every news items of euronews concerning Russia… Do you think that euronews is some cold war propagandist channel? It is as pitiful as offensive to any journalistic deontology, let alone your audience…
Just today we have a news item about 30 (sic) opposition demonstrators being arrested on purpose, the biased report about the girls punk group vandalizing a church (watch the video to see how candid they were), and as always blaming it all on putin, that ultimate scapegoat.
I am really ashamed to fund with my tax such a Goebbels-like propaganda channel, so I am awaiting an explanation from your redaction before writing to my congressman.

Dear viewer,
Protest in Russia and the authorities response to it has been an important issue on the news agenda of most serious international news media for some time now, particularly since demonstrations erupted in the aftermath of the re-election of President Putin. It is a story euronews, in common with other world media, has been following as developments require. We report on these developments with the same editorial values of balance and impartiality that runs through all our coverage of world events. euronews has not blamed ‘it all on Putin’, as you suggest, rather we report on his opponents claims and the official response to those claims, giving both points of view. Head of English Service

I think the Romanian referendum should be invalidated if only for the irregularities registered at the voting stations(multiple votes by the same person-250% presence at one voting station, many with more than 100% presence; “forced” voting: -permission to return to work by employers only if the employee has shown the proof that he voted, “summoning” letters received by people from the authorities to go to vote(my parents in law got such a letter from their mair); expelled observers from the voting stations, etc). The irregularities were encouraged by last minute changes in the voting proces to make it harder to check.

We know Putin’s record. Would he care about the mothers of children being in jail without trial? We know the record of religious groups when their toes are trodden on. Putin’s party, just like the church, do not like being made a fool of. The church should turn the other cheek. I wonder if they or Putin will forgive and forget!
