Argentina have continued their continental dominance, winning back-to-back Copa America championships in a tournament with as much drama on the pitch as off it.

'La Albiceleste' is the most successful South American side in its own right. A Lautaro Martinez sensational strike against Colombia in Miami secured a record-breaking 16th Copa America title.

The final game was delayed by over 80 minutes, and issues with crowd control overshadowed the dramatic late goal scored in extra time. This came just days after Uruguay players jumped the stands to clash with Colombian supporters after their semi-final win.

Serious concerns about the United States' readiness to host World Cup games in 2026 have been raised.

Team USA also had issues on the pitch and crashed out in the competition's group stage.  However, the tournament was a massive success for their northern neighbours. Under former Leeds United coach Jesse Marsch, Canada exceeded expectations to reach the semi-finals and will look to build momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Argentina will head to that tournament as the defending World Cup winners and back-to-back Copa America champions, with their legacy secured as one of the greatest teams in football history.
