Items belonging to Elvis Presley, Prince, and the Beach Boys will go on sale at an auction that will start this weekend.

The ‘Artifacts of Hollywood and Music’ auction is being held by Kruse GWS Auctions with nearly 400 lots on offer for fans of some of the biggest celebrities in Los Angeles history.

Included in the lots are many pieces from the King of Rock n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley, alongside pieces from Prince, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Taylor Swift, and Abigail Folger, the heiress to Folgers Coffee and one of the victims of the Manson murders.

“This particular auction has some pretty powerful pieces as far as emotional connections for people,” auctioneer Brigitte Kruse told Reuters. “There is this element of tragedy and icons leaving us way too soon.”

Online bidding has already started ahead of a live auction that will commence on Saturday 31 August. Currently the top items expected to bring in huge sums are those connected to Elvis.

The legendary rockstar’s yellow gold and diamond encrusted roulette-style ring is the current top lot with one bid already in for $5,000 (€4,510). The unique gold ring is expected to go for a final price between $35,000 and $60,000 (€31,500-54,100).

Some of the other items expect to be sold for huge sums include Elvis’ 1960s Derbi Dark bronze sunglasses, his Omega wristwatch, a microphone from his 1969 Vegas concerts, and a bottle of prescription medicine.

The medicine bottle is notable for its prescription of nitroglycerin, a drug used to relieve anginal chest pain. Its prescription is dated to 1977, the year Elvis died of cardiac arrest.

One of the more unique lots is Elvis’ own Smith and Wesson 27-2 "TCB" 357 Magnum pistol.

For the absolute Elvis fanatics, you can also bid on strands of his hair collected from his famous Graceland residency.

Fans of other celebrities may find interest in a letter from Brian Wilson to his Beach Boys bandmate and cousin Mike Love; a replica of the Adam West 1966 Batmobile Cadillac, a peach dress worn by Taylor Swift on the Speak Now tour; and a tambourine from Prince’s 1985 Purple Rain tour.

For some old Hollywood magic, Marilyn Monroe’s personally owned rhinestone choker necklace is up for auction, alongside a black cocktail dress owned by Farah Fawcett, and a white silk nylon blend blouse owned by Elizabeth Taylor.
