Led by American labour union Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) national executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland the strikers highlighted the threat of AI replacing human performers without consent or fair compensation.

The protest marks a major labour action following the union's vote to strike, after 18 months of failed negotiations with major gaming companies.
