The president of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for the end of protests and "bloodshed" across the country as human rights groups claim police forces have killed at least 13 people.

The president of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for the end of protests and "bloodshed" across the country as human rights groups claim police forces have killed at least 13 people.

People have taken to the streets to protest against the high cost of living and government policies.

Tinubu attempted to assure citizens in his address that he understood the "pain and frustration that drive these protests" however asserted that we "must not let violence and destruction tear our nation apart".
