As fallout from the Kremlin's war against Ukraine continues, Russia has launched a 'Made in Moscow' drive at its annual fashion week.

The event kicked off with a catwalk held by the Kremlin Wall, where models showcased designs by Russian designer Alexander Arutyunov on a bridge next to the historic landmark.

Moscow Fashion Week includes more than 200 brands, alongside a small selection of foreign designers, such as the Armenian brand Loom Weaving and Nicaraguan designer Joseph Mendoza.

The event comes as Russia remains largely isolated and shunned from the Western world due to its invasion of Ukraine, highlighting the country’s attempts to promote domestic industries amid international condemnation.
