An Amazon cargo plane barreled off a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, killing at least five people and injuring five others as it struck vehicles and was engulfed in flames, authorities said.
At least five people have died, and five others were injured as an Amazon cargo plane hit multiple vehicles, sparking a fire and sending plumes of smoke into the sky after barreling off the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday, forcing one of the US's busiest airports to close all of its runways.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the pilots survived or whether those killed were all in vehicles when the plane struck. From the wounded, three have been critically injured, and two others were hospitalised with less severe injuries, Miami-Dade County officials told at a news conference.
The aircraft overran the runway mid-afternoon after heading into Florida from San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Social media images showed the Prime Air aircraft lying beside a road, near two parked semi-trucks. The plane appeared to have landed on its underside and remained largely intact despite being engulfed in flames.
The incident involved a Boeing 767 operated by Amazon Prime Air, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and Miami International Airport.
The cause had yet to be determined, and it was unclear if the weather had played a role. Thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 48 kph were recorded in the area at the time, according to the National Weather Service.
