It's been 15 years since Noel and Liam Gallagher played their last gig together, having split up after a backstage fight in Paris.

Ending days, months and years of speculation, rock legends Oasis have announced they will be reuniting for the first time since 2009 and will play reunion shows next year in a world tour.

Both Noel and Liam Gallagher shared the news of the Oasis Live 25 tour on their social media sites, together with the official Oasis accounts, saying: "This is it, this is happening."

Though they've called it a world tour, the shows confirmed so far include dates only in the UK and Ireland. As it stands now, the band will be hitting stadiums in Cardiff, London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin in July and August 2025. Tickets go on sale Saturday 31 August.

A press release called these concerts the “domestic leg” of the tour, exciting fans further afield with promises that “plans are underway” for it to go beyond Europe later in 2025.

In their first comment on the announcement, the band said: ”The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

The announcement comes after rumours that band would be headlining Glastonbury and playing a string of gigs next year, including ten dates at both London's Wembley Stadium and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

The Gallagher brothers did little to quell speculation that an Oasis reunion was imminent, teasing that a big announcement could be made.

The former frontman, and songwriter-guitarist, both took to social media to fuel the fan frenzy regarding a potential Oasis tour in 2025.

A short clip in the same font and style of the band’s hallmark logo was shared on both of the brothers' social media accounts on Sunday night (25 August), as well as the official Oasis accounts.

The clip shows a black sign reading "27.08.24", which flickers and changes to "8am".

The same clip hinting at Tuesday’s date was also shown on the stage’s main screens during Liam’s headline Reading Festival set on Sunday evening, where he dedicated the Oasis track 'Half The World Away' to his brother and their track 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' to people who he said hate the rock band.

Reunion rumours have been swirling over the past year, not least thanks to the apparent mellowing of the fractious relationship between Liam and Noel. Their feud has seen a number of tours fall apart, with Noel leaving the band after a backstage fight in 2009 in Paris.
